Amiel Clarke

Assistant Conservator

Amiel joined the MAC team as a Conservation Assistant in 2018. Amiel received her MA Honours in History of Art from the University of Edinburgh in 2012. She completed her training in Easel Painting Conservation at the Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge in 2017. After graduating, Amiel interned in the Painting Conservation Department at the National Galleries of Scotland. There, her interest in the unique conservation challenges posed by Modern and Contemporary art was piqued, bringing her to New York to hone her skills further at MAC. Amiel's training in traditional easel paintings gives her a particular expertise in the treatment of late 19th-century and early modern paintings.
