Shauna Young

Senior Conservator

Shauna has been a part of the MAC team since 2010. Shauna received her BA from New York University and carried out her pre-program training at MAC. As a Master’s student in conservation at the Conservation Center at the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU, she studied under Suzanne Siano and worked as an intern in the studio until Summer 2012. In addition, Shauna worked with the conservators at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and at Villa La Pietra in Florence. To complete her training, Shauna interned in the Paintings Conservation Department at The Museum of Modern Art, after which she joined the permanent staff at MAC. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Conservation Center, IFA, and has led workshops in condition reporting for auction house staff and airbrushing for conservators. Throughout her career, Shauna has had a consistent focus on modern and contemporary paintings and painted surface conservation. She has a particular expertise in the conservation of artworks with some of the most challenging surfaces including minimalist and colorfield works. Shauna is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation.
